I had the pleasure of watching STS-124’s make the famous walk to the Airstream bus after donning space suits. I have always wondered what its like to be there a mere feet away cheering on the shuttle’s crew as they prepare for the most amazing journey of a life time. Its like nothing else I have ever been a part of. Its not so much the nerve racking feeling, but a feeling of pride, the satisfaction of being part of something bigger than one’s self, a feeling like I was sincerely part of something important, as though each and every one of those astronauts felt and appreciated my individual support. I was only able to snap a few quick pictures, but here is video.
