We are thrilled to get emails from listeners and readers. Your kind words and feedback mean a lot to us, and remind us of who we are doing this for. If you want to write, go for it. That said, there are times when many of you will write at once, and it may take us awhile to get around to answering your letter. If you’re looking for an answer right away, there might be some other avenues you should try first.
If you have a question about space and astronomy
Drop by the Bad Astronomy/Universe Today forum and ask your question. There are thousands of astronomy enthusiasts there, including specialists in many disciplines. They have much more knowledge than our two heads can ever hold. In fact, there’s a special section just for people to post their questions. Check it out.
If you want us to report your news
This show is not specifically a news show, however, we will often talk about topics involving recent science findings that have passed through peer review, or that are in the process being peer reviewed. If your story is peer reviewed, or you want to point out a neat peer reviewed science discovery, write us!
However, if you’ve got a new discovery about the universe, or want to announce your findings and aren’t already in the process of getting your results reviewed in a professional forum, we suggest you read this great article by Michio Kaku that explains how to get your work accepted for review.
You can also post your ideas to the Against the Mainstream section of the Bad Astronomy/Universe Today forum and get feedback right away. You’ll get some great responses.
If you want permission to redistribute Astronomy Cast episodes
You have our permission. There, that was easy. You don’t even have to ask us. We’d appreciate it if you gave us credit, though.
If you’d like to invite us to come talk at your Conference/Club/Meeting
Depending on where you are, our schedules, and other details, we may be available to come give presentations at your conference/club/or meeting. At this time we can not travel on our own dime, so you must be able to provide travel monies and/or other forms of bribe to get us to come to you. If you have funds and/or bribes, and would like to extend an invitation, email away. (Pamela really likes to travel to talk to kids and amateur astronomers!)
If you still want to drop us a general email
We’d love to hear from you. Our email address is firstname.lastname@example.org. We can’t promise an instant reply, but we’ll get back to you when we can.
